OFA has always known that providing financial support is not enough to keep a student in school. Without emotional support, youth do not weather the difficult times that they will inevitably face as a student in a college or vocational program. The foster youth who are part of OFA do not have family support and often lack the experiences and skills that help students succeed in school. Virtual mentoring has proven an effective means of providing this support and increasing skills.
Youth who participate in any of OFA’s scholarship, Educational and Training Voucher, and pilot programs are eligible to be matched with a mentor. Maintaining and growing this program takes both financial donations and gifts of time. Donated funds will be used to increase the number of youth who can participate in the vMentor Program.
For donations, OFA uses Network for Good to keep your information secure. If you click on the icon below, it will take you to a ‘donate now’ button. If you open it, you will find a page that will allow you to donate online.
If you want to ensure that your donation goes to the vMentor Program, please enter ‘vMentor’ in the space that asks for designation. |
